I heard a saying once that “one must let the beauty you love be what you do”. There are always continual defining moments in our lives, where we have opportunities to impart dynamic statements. Dynamic statements creates a strong and powerful need to express our inner desires. It causes us to develop that deep desire to take a bold step outside of ourselves, daring to take risk, and unleashing the unending energy and driven passion that lies deep within the human soul. When we embrace these dynamic and divine moments, our lives can be so deeply moved and changed.

BIOGRAPHY

As a young child, I had a second grade teacher, Mrs. Molly Cade, who was instrumental in sparking an interest for me in the visual arts. To further my education in the arts, I began ballet classes in high school and I took one elective class in drawing and painting. I spent the next four years of my life at the University of Utah, in Salt Lake City, studying and pursuing a bachelor of fine arts degree in the performing arts (ballet) and I had opportunities to audition and perform with the professional company “Ballet West”. As a result of these experiences, my passion and desire to continue to develop my artistic endeavors grew stronger.

On my life journey, I have been fortunate to have a wonderfully supportive husband. We have been blessed with five beautiful children that have taught me a great deal about life. I credit my husband, my family and friends for encouraging me to pursue this creative passion.

For the past 30 years, I have devoted my time and energy to raising a family and it has been through these life experiences, which has allowed me to clarify my desire to create artwork that expresses a spiritual element and values that truly matter. Within the past 12 years I have had the opportunity to be exposed to Atelier Lack trained instructors, Paul Abdella, Michael Frey, Rick Kochenash and Louise Gillis. I continued with my education at the School of Realism under Michael Frey. Through the Savage Art Gallery, I continued with classes under Christine Tierney and Mary Albury-Noyes. Currently, I am enrolled in classes with Joe Paquet, Jeff Hurinenko, Richard Abraham, Marc Hanson, Richard McKinley, and Albert Handell. They are an inspiration for me to pursue my passion. I have a studio on Bone Lake and a studio in Savage. (www.savageartstudios.com). I have continued to do some teaching of private and small group lessons in drawing and pastel. I have currently completed half of a Master’s Program in Human Development with an emphasis on the therapeutic benefit of the visual arts and how the arts are a necessary part of our lives as they feed our souls.
