Nicole Roberts Hoiland: Ceramic Sculpture

In my utilitarian ceramic work, I try to bridge the gap between sculpture and function.  I stack and tie multiple pieces so that they may be seen as one unit-but they separate in order for them to artistically display food.  I use a simple drawing style on the pieces that is reflective of a modernistic take on nature.
